The BBOT Approach

Listening. Understanding. Supporting.

Every person’s experience at work is unique.

Effective workplace solutions begin with understanding the individual — their work demands, their circumstances, their preferences and what will enable them to successfully participate in their role.

Through more than 30 years of Occupational Therapy practice, Bernie has developed a strong ability to listen carefully, identify what matters most and collaborate with individuals to develop solutions that fit.

Occupational Therapy Workplace Assessment Services

Supporting individuals through early intervention and practical workplace solutions

Workstation Ergonomic Assessments

BBOT offers a range of workstation assessment services including workstation and chair checks, prevention workstation assessments and comprehensive workstation assessments. The level of assessment is matched to the purpose of the referral, the employer's and/or individual's needs and the complexity of the situation.

BBOT provides individualised assessments of computer based work environments to identify factors that may be contributing to discomfort, reduced efficiency or difficulty performing work tasks.

Assessments include:

  • individual issues/symptoms and requirements

  • workstation and chair setup and adjustment

  • chair and desk suitability

  • monitor positioning

  • keyboard and mouse options

  • posture and movement patterns

  • work practices

Recommendations are developed collaboratively, considering both the workplace environment and the individual who uses it.

The goal is to identify solutions that the person understands and can successfully incorporate into their working routine.

Early Intervention Workplace Assessments

Early intervention provides an opportunity to identify and understand workplace issues and implement practical strategies before they become more significant barriers to participation.

BBOT works with individuals whose work participation has been affected by injury, illness, changing capacity, workplace demands or other factors influencing their ability to perform their role comfortably and effectively.

Each assessment considers:

  • the individual

  • their work role

  • their workplace environment

  • contributing factors

  • practical options for improvement

The outcome is a personalised approach designed to support sustainable work participation.

Workers Compensation & Workplace Support

With extensive experience in occupational rehabilitation and workers compensation, BBOT understands the importance of balancing individual needs with workplace requirements.

Services can support:

  • worksite assessments

  • return-to-work planning and schedules

  • activities of daily living

  • functional recommendations

  • identifying workplace barriers

  • communication between stakeholders

Bernie brings a practical understanding of the complexities involved when supporting people returning to, remaining in or adapting within the workplace.
